Family Flashback

Get a load of my mom's hair, that is awesome!!! My dad actually had hair back then, kind of... but I would have to say that my hair wins the prize...what's up with the comb over?....and the bangs?....and why did my mom ever let me leave the house looking like this? This is the last family picture my family ever took, sad. I was either in 7th or 8th grade because it was pre-braces which was at the end of 8th grade.
Aahhhh cute!!!! Kristi's buck teeth were the best. I actually really miss those.

Do you see why I love my friends?? If any of you want to meet the comedians in my life, let me know and I'll hook you up! Not that this is a competition by any means, but Nikki and Christy need to do these things professionally! Thanks for the great laughs everybody!!!

Blonde or Natural????

I just scheduled a hair appointment and now I need to decide- do I go back to being blonde or stay natural?? I want your honest opinion cause I'm really struggling with this one. Check out the pictures and let me know what you think.

Blonde Pro's:
1.Makes me feel a little younger
2.Makes me feel a little more sassy! (Not that I need much help with that one)
3.Daniel prefers blonde, but doesn't mind the natural color. (He would like me with purple hair though, let's be honest!)

Blonde Con's:
1.Way more high maintenance
2.A lot more expensive-although I think I can justify this as a business expense because "Cool Chicks" definitely need cute hair!!!!

Hooray for President Hinckley

Although he will be greatly missed by all the members of the Church, hooray for President Hinckley being able to go back to be with his sweet wife that he missed so much. Can you seriously imagine the return he had back to Heaven??!! Think of all the people there welcoming him back home. That would be an awesome sight to see. After all the hugs, he probably went right back to work!

My favorite memory of Gordon B. Hinckley would probably have to be when I saw him give his famous "Be" talk in the Marriott Center at BYU. I have my original notes to it somewhere. That was a fabulous talk that will be known throughout time as one of the "greats", especially for the youth of the Church. I love you President Hinckley, you will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for all of your inspired wisdom and the love we all felt from you for so many years.

We learned how to change font sizes, add color, add more than one picture per post, etc. You just wait for all my new tricks that I'm sure you already know, but for some reason I struggle. Anyway... I totally have to share with you my very favorite things from Hawaii, are you ready for this?

STILLWATER -- Take one part college basketball, one part fashion, two parts zany sisters, throw in the "William Tell Overture" and you have a national phenomenon that makes little sense and is all the more fun for it.

Sisters Kristi Monks and Natalie Bobik, wife of Oklahoma State junior Daniel Bobik, are co-creators of the "ride to victory" that has gained so much attention in the postseason. Monks and her mother fly from Utah to every game. Natalie and Kristi wear crazy hats, sunglasses and clever shirts claiming, among other things, "Cool Chicks Wear Orange," and ride imaginary steeds as the OSU band churns out the familiar tune.

"We're having a fabulous time," Natalie said.

"It's a fun time for all three of us," said Daniel Bobik.

The phenomenon began when the sisters picked up some matching orange gear for the Big 12 Tournament, then got a little crazy when the band struck up "William Tell." They did it again at the NCAA Tournament games in Kansas City, wearing matching outfits to each game and finding themselves on the video screens overhead, cheered on by fans of both teams. At the regional last week in New Jersey, they went shopping at Mill Creek Mall -- across the street from the OSU hotel -- and hit the mother lode.

"It was kind of a sad mall," Natalie said, "but they had this little store and they had tons of orange, and we just couldn't help ourselves. We got those hats and the sunglasses."

The idea was to break out the new gear during the first media timeout of the second half "only if they're down at halftime." Luckily for everyone watching, the Cowboys trailed both Pittsburgh and St. Joseph's at the break.

"So we pulled out our hats and glasses," she said, "and they worked."

So did CBS' television cameras, which captured the sisters in peak form. Since then, inquiries about the orange-clad riders have come from such locales as Philadelphia, New York, California, Utah and Atlanta.

Working mom: Natalie Bobik, 24, also has gained acclaim for her day job: full-time mom. Twenty-month-old son Jaxton takes all her attention when she's not riding air-horses in the aisles.

"Heck yeah, she works. She's a mom. That's plenty of work right there, I'm telling you," said Daniel Bobik. "I'd rather have her raise our children than somebody else. . . . That's definitely a job-and-a-half, I tell you. I mean, I admire people who stay home and want to be with their children and raise them. It's not an easy task."

Basketball Fan's Girlfriend Loudly Clears Throat Every Time an NCAA Player's Wife is Shown in Stands

HOT SPRINGS, AR - Basketball fan and avid NCAA tournament television viewer Chad Healy, 27, reported this weekend that his girlfriend, Alison DuPont, cleared her throat conspicuously and made "a big thing out of it" whenever a basketball player's wife was mentioned by announcers or shown on camera. Healy said that the couple, who moved in together five months ago and have been dating for over a year, have no plans to get engaged.

"It's bad enough that they keep showing coaches' wives in the stands every three seconds," Healy said. "Whenever they show a player's wife, she makes sure I know about it. I've just been pretending not to notice, but, I'm sure she doesn't buy it."

"I've been trying to drop hints for a while," DuPont said, "but he hasn't been getting it. I'll talk about my friend who's getting married in June, and I'll be like, 'wouldn't that be fun, planning a wedding, getting all your friends and family together for such a special occasion,' and he's like, 'I guess; whatever.' But these basketball players have got to be younger than we are, and I'm just trying to make it clear to him that yes, it is within the realm of possibility to get married before you're 35."

"During the UAB-Arizona game, I think it was," Healy told friends Sunday afternoon, "the announcer said something about one of the players being engaged to a softball player on the team, and she was all like, 'engaged, huh? Wow.'

"The worst was when Oklahoma State was playing, and they showed some hot chicks in the stands, and I pointed them out, and it turned out that one of them was a player's wife. 'Oh, see, you can still be hot when you're a wife, wives are hot too'... I'll be hearing about that for a while. Thank God BYU didn't make the tournament this year; I'm not sure I could have survived that."

10 random things about me:

My friend asked me to write down 10 random things about me. Oh boy, this could be lots of fun and I'm not quite sure where to start. I am a very random person so prepare yourself...some of these might come as a shock, then again, probably not!!!!

#1.I HAVE ONLY KISSED 5 OR 6 GUYS IN MY LIFE.

Is that cool or pathetic? I'm leaning towards cool. (I was kissed by a few others, but I did not kiss them back, so to me that doesn't count.)

Bowdy(#1) of course was the first and the only for at least 2 years.

Then there was a slight break up between the two of us where I tried, successfully, I might add, to steal another girls boyfriend (Troy #2) in High School, kissed him once, and realized that he just wasn't worth it!!! He was the worst kisser. Soon after that I was back to kissing Bowdy.

Then at Ricks College Charley(#3) kissed me but earned himself the nickname of "Chester the Molester" when I found his hands in places they absolutely did not belong and then he had the guts to ask me if I was ready to go down that road of marriage with him when we weren't even dating. YIKES!!!

Chip(#4 a.k.a. Jeremy Mansius) Now Chip was Awesome! He was in my ward at Ricks and played baseball up there. I will always be thankful for Chip for falling in love with me when I was fat and heart broken by Bowdy. I was in a depression of sorts, but Chips kisses brought me back out of that and let me know just how special I really was to someone like him. Thanks Chip! P.S. Chip and Daniel would be great friends if they ever met.

EFY guy (#5- I'm actually not even sure this one happened) I can't remember his name, I think it was Conner??? Anyway, our last session of EFY in Canada I had a huge crush on him, he was Canadian and I thought that was cool. He came to Utah for a EFY Counselor Reunion and I think we kissed, I'll have to ask Molly, she will remember. Wow, those details are sketchy, it must have been real meaningful, NOT!!!

And last but definitely not least is Daniel (#6) by hubby, my lover, my friend. Our first kiss came after a couple of dates and a discussion of our favorite scripture Alma 26:12. He leaned in and gave me a cute little kiss and as stated before all I could say was "Hooray!" The rest is history.

#2. 1 GAINED 40 POUNDS UP AT RICKS IN A MATTER OF 2-3 MONTHS, ALL OVER BOWDY GARDNER.

Yes, it is true, now this one for sure is pathetic, but you have to realize that I had dated Bowdy for 3 1/2 years and had my entire life planned out with this guy when he decided to shatter my heart in a thousand pieces and crush all my dreams along with it. Honestly, I really don't remember a lot of details, which I KNOW is a huge blessing, but I do remember the 40 pounds and my love for Ben and Jerry's ice cream. They were there for me when nobody else was!!! On a side note...Daniel actually fell in love with me when I had all this extra weight on me. That is one reason my mom loved him from the start!

#3. I WAS IN LOVE WITH MY HUSBAND IN 9TH GRADE.

I don't know how many of you know this but Daniel and I went to Timpview together our freshman year. I had the biggest crush on him ever, but he was afraid of girls and especially me, because I was a little bit of a spaz. Ok, I know that was a huge understatement. Anyway, he played basketball and I was a cheerleader and I would stand under the basket and take pictures of him and make up my own cheers for him! (I have all of this as proof if you need to see it). After that year, his family moved back to California and I didn't see or talk to him for 5 years. After his mission he came to BYU to play basketball and looked me up in the computer system a.k.a. the "Stalker Net". Our first date was October 6th of 2000. On Feb. 16th, the night we got engaged, I got my yearbooks out because I was going to start making wedding lists right then. I read what Daniel wrote to me in our Freshman yearbook and said, "SHUT UP" it says..."Natalie, I'm sorry things didn't work out this year, but I want you to know that someday they will." I AM NOT LYING. It's true. We were just meant to be! Love you babe!

#4. I WAS ON THE PRICE IS RIGHT!

Come on down....Natalie Bobik. The summer we got married, we went and stood in line for hours to get into the show. I did my happy dance, which is a shocking sight and sure enough, I was the first one called to the stage. I bid correctly on the first item, which was a play house that is set up at my mom's house in Provo and then I flopped on the Credit Card game because I couldn't hear a thing that was being said when they were describing the prizes. I was talking to Bob. I was not aware that the go cart was a push go cart so I bid wrong and lost. I didn't give up hope, I knew the wheel would be a whole new chance but it was heavier than all get out, and it totally kicked my butt. I think I got like 15 cents total. It sucked, but I have the video tape and the memories and how many people can really say they have been on the price is right?

#5. MY NICKNAME IS BOOZU.

Don't ask me where it came from, I think the movie Dumb and Dumber but who knows. Daniel is the king of nicknames and they seem to stick. I tried to get personalized license plates in Utah that said Boozu and they turned me down because it suggests that I'm a boozer, a drunk, a la-hoo-sa-her. Whatever, if I tried here in Oklahoma, they would totally allow it for sure!

#6. I HAVE BEEN TO THE FINAL FOUR!!!!

Some of you may not even realize the magnitude of this or care but this was a huge deal and we were all a part of it. Daniel's Junior year they kicked major butt, spanked everybody they played and ended up in San Antonio playing in the Final Four. By this time the whole "Cool Chicks" thing was quite the craze so Kristi and I were having all sorts of fun meeting all sorts of people and getting interviewed, ect. One of the funnest memories of all time, hands down!!! This is kind of like the Price Is Right, not many people can say they have ever done it!

#7. I PEE MY PANTS WHEN I GET NERVOUS OR EXCITED.

I can't help it, you know when your playing hide and seek and you just can't take it anymore? It's like that, not a full on pee, just a little whiz, no biggie right?

#8. MY BooBS ARE TOTALLY LOPSIDED. SHH! DON'T TELL

That's probably a little too much information for some of you, but you know me, let's just tell it how it is. So lets first clarify---along with being non-existent they are lopsided. Why didn't anybody tell me that when you breastfeed this happens?? Why didn't anybody tell me to rotate which boob you start with when you breastfeed? Why? Why? Why?

#9. I AM PRETTY MUCH FAMOUS IN OKLAHOMA.

I guess making a complete fool of yourself by doing a hideous dance (if you can call it that) called the "horse dance" on National Television and in front of thousands of people every basketball game at Oklahoma State University along with starting a T-shirt company makes you pretty well known in this part of the country. Who would have thought? My sister and I were just being ourselves :)

#10. I HAD BLAYKLI IN GERMANY 10 MINUTES AFTER I ARRIVED AT THE HOSPITAL.

Now, if you haven't heard this story you've got to let me know cause it's just too good. Maybe that could be a post in the near future. Let's just say that I deserve a star on my forehead for that one. No medication, no nothin'. Remember that this is Natalie we are talking about, the girl that passes out and has seizures if she sprains her ankle, or gets a shot. That was a huge accomplishment!

Well, that's it, probably the 10 most random things about me! How did I do? Do I get any Hooray's?

Note to Self...

Opening Presents with a child with ADHD is just not fun!!! I'm not kidding, it was no fun at all with Jaxton this year. All he did was rip open his present, look at it, and ask for the next one. He didn't get excited about anything, including the swing set, the little stinker. Then to make it worse, he basically opened all of Blaykli's presents for her.
So next year, I'm going to mix it up a little and send him on a scavenger hunt for all of his presents. We aren't going to have anything out in plain sight, it's all going to be a game so that we can enjoy it for longer than 5 minutes. Santa is going to have to step it up with this little guy.
Blaykli on the other hand was so fun to watch. She would open something and play with it for 15 minutes and then go see what Jaxton got and play with his stuff for awhile and then she would be ready to open something else, but wouldn't want to put any of the other things down that she had opened already. It was cute to see how excited she got about things, especially the swing set!!! Hooray for her!

All I want for Christmas....

This year I got 2 fabulous gifts, HOORAY!! I knew what they were both going to be, but for some reason that didn't make a difference for me. (I'm not much for surprises anymore since Daniel ordered me a BUN AND THIGH MASTER off of an infomercial one time!) Oh wait, that deserves a Hooray for sure!
I got a brand new pan set from Pampered Chef that rocks, WATCH OUT DANIEL:)! These are a lot more heavy duty than the last ones I had. I also got the greatest gift ever...a life size family picture. Alright, it's not quite life sized, it's only a 24x30, but it's pretty darn close. I've had this spot on the wall reserved for it forever, so imagine my delight each time I walk past it and see my cute family!!
