Proms to remember...

This beautiful spring weather has inspired me to do my annual spring cleaning, which lead me to the organization of thousands of photos, all of which bring back tons of super fun memories, some definitely more than others, but not many even come close to my PROM pictures.

TABIONA PROM 1997
This was my first Prom experience and it has a great story to go along with it. Tabiona is a tiny town in Utah where Kindergarten through 12th grade all attend the same school, no joke. This particular year there were 16 Juniors total and 1 boy and 1 girl refused to go to Prom with one another. I was dating Bowdy and his Aunt worked at the school so she called Bowdy's mom Gail to see if Bowdy and I would go to Prom but not with one another, me as the boys date and Bowdy as the girls date. Bowdy and I lived 2 hours away from each other and reading back through my journal the only reason we agreed to this was because it was a weekend that we originally weren't going to get to see each other so we thought that going to a dance with somebody else and getting to see each other was better than not getting to see each other at all.
We were so in love! :)
Anyway...here is my date Jerry.
Believe it or not I got the better end of the deal when it came to the date! Except I'm not sure what that smurk on his face is suppose to mean.

Here is a picture of us before the dance trying to act like acquaintances rather than boyfriend and girlfriend.

Here is that same picture in my scrapbook with Jerry cut out so I could be closer to Bowdy. We were a much cuter couple, you have to admit. You can totally see the cut out line around his head, now that's funny stuff!

In my journal I talk about how hard it was for us to be there but not with each other, like end of the world hard! When I went to the bathroom Bowdy followed me just so we could hug each other. We were both glad to see that night end, it was torture but good times all in one.

Timpview Prom 1997

I was in the Prom Royalty, I'm not wearing the crown as a self proclaimed princess I swear! This was pretty much the perfect Prom though, I must say.

Bowdy was not a fan of up-do's if you are wondering about the hair being down, he was totally OK with the bangs though!

Here are most of my friends, with their up-do's

Union High Prom 1998

Other than this background, this Prom was pretty fabulous as well!

Here are my Roosevelt besties Tammy and April. Oh and don't even worry that I wore my dresses multiple times, that was a perk with dating someone that lived 2 hours away!

Lone Peak Prom 1998

This is one of my best friends BJ and yes, I am like a lot taller than him even without heels and yes, my cheeks are really chubby (that's what happened when I was broken up with Bowdy) and yes, those are ringlets on the side of my head. Forgive me for looking like this at your Prom Beej, I'm so sorry.

Timpview Senior Ball 1998

This is one of my best friends Chris who was the one that I didn't talk to for months (alright maybe just weeks) because he pinched my butt our Senior year!! I guess I forgave him and he is still one of my best chums.

Hooray for Spring Time and Memories!!!

Hooray for Diapers!!!

Robin and Patsy Sutton hosted a fabulous DIAPER shower for me last night. It was so cute and thoughtful and fun! There is nothing that I love more than having all (well all in one area) of my favorite people in the same room getting to know each other and enjoying each others company. Thank you so much for all who attended and I missed those of you who couldn't make it.
Thanks for the diapers and other useful goodies, I am so excited!!!
Here is the loot (ooh, I like that word!)

It's Official...

After much deliberation we have decided that this little boy's name is going to be....
Tyson J Bobik
I know it wasn't ever a name in the polls (sorry about that) but it has special significance to me because I had a stillborn brother who's name was Tyson. And there are lots of options here Tyson, Ty or TJ so I'll never get bored with it.
Hooray for that!
Oh and the count down is on 4 weeks from today WOO HOO!!!

5 years ago today...

5 years ago today WE were on our way to the Final Four in San Antonio Texas. That was the first and only time the team took me and Jaxton with them on their chartered "I-m-so-spoiled-I-forgot-what-it-was-like-to-travel-like-a-normal-person" flight that left right out of good old Stillwater, OK. When we stepped off the bus at the hotel there was a large media frenzy going on with people taking pictures and begging for interviews from all of the Oklahoma State players. That was awesome!!!

5 years ago today Daniel was in Sports Illustrated magazine, more than once. He was also picked as the Best Wing Defender in the Final Four and on the All GQ team, go Wheetie!!

5 years ago today my family (Mom, Dad, Kristi, Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle Ricky) rolled up to our San Antonio hotel in a grey Astro Van! I will forever kick myself in the hind end for not getting a picture of all of us with that beauty. Every single time I drove it I hit the exact same corner coming out of our hotel, no matter how hard I tried to miss it. Good times!!!

5 years ago today Jaxton wasn't even 2...He looked like this and he carried this flag around with him at all times. He was daddy's biggest fan!!!

5 years ago "Cool Chicks Wear Orange" was born and was all the rage! Kristi and I were just as famous as the boys on the team doing the Horse Dance for all of the fans, taking pictures with people from all over the country, doing television, newspaper and radio interviews of our own and signing autographs on the same basketballs as the other players. That was the life!!!
Five years ago today life was one exciting experience after another. I am so thankful that I got to share that excitement with Daniel and my family and for the memories we have to hold onto one March Madness after another. Life has been very good to us!!!

Have fun in Detroit Daniel, I wish I was there with you.

BTW...

If you ever feel the need to hear the birthday song sung to

*ARM PITS*

come on over, it's been Blaykli's specialty since her b-day!!!

She belongs to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints!!!

March 15th, 2009

Rachel our fabulously beautiful and oh so cuddly friend got baptised a week ago last Sunday! It was one of those days that you look at everyone around you and say,

"This has been such a great day!"
Rachel asked Daniel to baptise her, which was such a privilege for him and such a tender moment for me to watch. He has such a pure love for the gospel of Jesus Christ, it means everything to him, which means everything to me.

Rachel was so ready for the waters of baptism. Her countenance was radiating and with every tear that ran down her cheek that day you could feel her knowledge that she is truly a daughter of God become so evident.

Her testimony is so strong. She knows the Book of Mormon is true. She knows the Joseph Smith was a true prophet who saw God the Father and Jesus Christ. She knows that we have a Prophet and Apostles on the earth today that teach us the things that we need to know. The best part about this is she came to the knowledge of these things on her own, with the love and support of her husband and friends.

She will be an amazing member of the Church and I know she will influence many with her special spirit. The things she has been through in her life will make her stronger as she comes to understand that Heavenly Father is aware of her and her struggles and that we have trials in this life to build our character to become the people that He wants us to become so that we can live with Him again someday.

Congratulations Rachel!
We love you and we are so proud of you!

Cool Chicks Wear Green Again!!!

Our second annual St. Patty's Day Girls Night Out was a night to remember. We didn't get to do our planned activity because we chose cheese over noodles but with this group no matter what we are doing it's Good Times and Great fun!!!

The Horse Dance 2009

I couldn't figure out how to upload the video to my blog so you will have to click on this link www.youtube.com/watch?v=FrcNUEEuta4
to watch the good old Horse Dance from this year. The little munchkin running around by us is Blaykli, it was her debut with us and the 13,000+ fans didn't even phase her!! That and the fact that I survived doing it 30 weeks pregnant made it pretty darn fabulous! Plus I'm always looking for excuses to get my sister to Oklahoma!!!

Oh and P.S. Fig was the winner of the t-shirt saying, HOORAY for her!!!

And here is another little ditty that was posted about us:

I needed a good laugh today....

To Maintain A Healthy Level Of Insanity

1. At Lunch Time, Sit In Your Parked Car With Sunglasses on and point a Hair Dryer At Passing Cars. See If They Slow Down.

2. Page Yourself Over The Intercom. Don't Disguise Your Voice!

3. Every Time Someone Asks You To Do Something, ask If They Want Fries with that.

4. Put Decaf In The Coffee Maker For 3 Weeks . Once Everyone has Gotten Over Their Caffeine Addictions, Switch to Espresso.

5. In the Memo Field Of All Your Checks, Write ' For Marijuana.

6. Skip down the hall Rather Than Walk and see how many looks you get.

7. Order a Diet Water whenever you go out to eat, with a serious face.

8. Specify That Your Drive-through Order Is 'To Go'.

9. Sing Along At The Opera.

10. Five Days In Advance, Tell Your Friends You Can't Attend Their Party Because You have a headache.

11. When The Money Comes Out The ATM, Scream ' I Won! I Won!'

12. When Leaving the Zoo, Start Running towards the Parking lot, Yelling.... 'Run For Your Lives! They're Loose!'

13. Tell Your Children Over Dinner, 'Due To The Economy, We Are Going To Have To Let One Of You Go.'

And The Final Way To Keep A Healthy Level Of Insanity

14. PICK UP A BOX OF CONDOMS AT THE PHARMACY, GO TO THE COUNTER AND ASK WHERE THE FITTING ROOM IS.

Thanks for the laugh Angie! What makes these so dang funny is that my sister and I would totally do some of them!

Valentine's Day 2009

Valentine's Day was a blast this year!!! My anonymous friends and I made so called SCANDALOUS picture books for our husbands which really weren't all that scandalous, I just like saying the word! I'd love to give you all a slight preview for curiosity sake but I'm not going to:)... Daniel was a HUGE fan of the book and I was most impressed by my much needed improvement of the "sexy" face and my anonymous friends photography skills, she is a natural!!

*Ok I lied, here is a glimpse and the difference in my "sexy" face in one years time. Pretty impressive, don't you think? Oh and yes, that is a boa (oh la la)*

After we gave our books to the hubbies we met up for dinner.
Lacey and Jason

Kristen and Jason

Michele and Glyn

Lacey and Sam
Fig and Dizzle
and the Cheesers! (that should really be our last name)
Hope you had a day full of so called scandalous love too!!!

p.s. not all parties shown above were involved in the scandalous stuff, I'll keep that information anonymous!!

Welcome to my week last week...

Yes this is our couch with mounds of clean laundry on it and Eddie on top!

It was a rough one!

OKC Thunder Game

Daniel was able to get a suite for a Thunder game down in Oklahoma City a few weeks ago. I was a total slacker on the picture taking but this little beauty is really the only one that is post worthy. I'm pretty sure these Thunder Girls weren't wearing any Thunderware!!!

And I'm pretty sure the guys were totally OK with that!!!

Sorry to the wives that were excited for the professional photographers picture of this, I totally lost the card.

I need help...

My creativity is always lacking during the pregnancy months, it's horrible. I need to come up with a cute Cool Chick's Maternity Shirt for boys so that I can wear it at the end of this month when Kristi and I do our yearly "Horse Dance" for the crowd.
The Maternity shirt for girls says, "Hooray! It's a Cool Chick"
with an arrow pointing at the belly.
Whitney gave me some ideas for boys, my favorites were:
"Cool Chicks are gonna dig me"
or
"Cool Chicks Construction Zone"
Leave a comment with an idea of your own or tell me which one of those you like best. I will give a prize to the person who's saying I print and it won't be a maternity shirt (unless your pregnant and you really want one)!
